OIB 50/50 Raffles for
AWS Educational Foundation (AWSEF)
Scholarship Program
The OIB Chapter started an ongoing 50/50 Raffle in 2021, continuing into 2023.
Drawings were held each quarter at one of the OIB Chapter Tasting Events.
1/2 of each drawing went to the ticket holder and the other 1/2 was donated by the Chapter directly to the AWS Educational Foundation, specifically in the OIB Chapter's name.
At the end of 2022, the quarterly ticket drawings will be replaced with more specific charity events. These will be developed over time based on a variety of ideas.
The Chapter's goal is to get to $3,500 that is AWS National's requirement for then granting the Scholarship in the Chapter's name. There is no time limit to achieve this level.

If you are making any personal check contributions directly to the AWS Educational Foundation, please make a note on your check & that you request that it is applied to the Scholarship Program in the OIB Chapters name.
Otherwise it will be applied via their general funding process.

10/17/21 - This quarters drawing was held during the Kirkland Challenge event. The winning ticket drawn was held by Dana Keeler, Winemaker for Silver Coast Winery. Dana was VERY gracious by contributing his 50% winnings to The AWS Education Foundation in the OIB chapters name. THANK YOU DANA! |

06/20/21 - During the High End Italian Wines Event sponsored by Petrea Imports, Rusty and Carol Petrea along with their COO Joseph Oates joined in the drawing of the next quarterly winner. Joseph pulled the winning ticket held by Pat Trombetta. Total pot $650. Amazingly, Pat also decided to fully donate her 50/50 win to The AWS Education Foundation in the OIB Chapters name. THANK YOU PAT!

Q1 DRAWING
03/21/21 - Chris Miller, Cellar Assistant at Silver Coast Winery, picks the lucky ticket of Jan Stocklinski. Total pot was $580. Jan was extremely gracious in further donating her 50/50 win to The AWS Education Foundation in the OIB Chapters name. Carol will be sending out a check and building upon the Chapters contributions.
