for Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards
8/9/18 A small group of OIB and Southport Chapter members participated in a drill-down educational opportunity presented by Steve & Gloria Reustle. After a welcome & Reustle update from Steve & Gloria, a wine tasting technical data review commenced featuring (3) Reustle Gruner Veltliner's from vintage years 2011, 2012 & 2016 and (3) Reustle Syrah's from vintage years 2010, 2012, & 2014. All wines have achieved top awards in various classifications. A "blind" bottle tasting exercise followed to determine the impact of climate changes on the vintages during a Hot, Warm, Cool growing season. In addition to a fun time filled with great wine, great pairings & fun discussions, the evening wrapped up with a wonderful Reustle RoJo Dulce Red Port.
Steve & Gloria went on to present their winery business, success & complete wine offerings the next evening to over 75 members/guests at the regularly scheduled Southport Chapter meeting.
